Rice Theatre Program Presents
Drunken City by Adam Bock
Directed by Justin Doran

Houston, TX— Off on the bar crawl to end all crawls, three twenty-something brides-to-be find their lives going topsy-turvy when one of them begins to question her future after a chance encounter with a recently jilted handsome stranger. The Drunken City is a wildly theatrical take on the mystique of marriage and the ever-shifting nature of love and identity in a city that never sleeps

"A playful and hopeful comedy. Like the best episodes of 'Sex and the City,' a little heartache always goes well with hilarity…" -Daily News

Rice University is pleased to have freelance director and theatre artist, Justin Doran back after directing last year’s successful production of Noises Off.   Justin has over 100 professional credits regionally and locally as an actor, director, and producer.   Justin’s work consistently tops the best plays of the year list as compiled by The Houston Chronicle in addition to being selected as Best Actor by the Houston Press.   His latest directorial work was the critically acclaimed production of Farragut North with one of Houston’s newest theatre companies, Black Lab Theatre.
